Revived Thunder Queens have vowed to reclaim their lost glory and win silverware this season.<\/p>\n
Thunder Coach, Christina Mkwanda- Nsinji, made the remarks after their narrow 53-49 loss to Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League leaders, Kukoma Diamonds, at Blantyre Youth Centre on Sunday.<\/p>\n
In the first quarter, both sides were tied 13-up before Diamonds led 29-24 at half-time then 42-34 in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
Despite missing key players, including shooter Chikumbutso Kaminjolo, Thunder stretched Diamonds particularly in the first and last quarters.<\/p>\n
Thunders coach believes the team is coming of age.<\/p>\n
\u201cI reshuffled my squad. I am neither worried nor affected by the result because our performance was good,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
During the game, experienced goal-keeper and goal-defender, Joanna Kachilika for Thunder was shifted to goal-shooter whereas centre Thandie Galeta was moved to goal-defence to partner Martha Dambo.<\/p>\n
Thoko Evance was given a rare start at wing-attack whereas Twana Naseta was featured in wing-defence.<\/p>\n
\u201cI give the players specific instruction and they did not struggle because they followed what I told them. I am confident in my squad that we can end our cup drought,\u201d the coach said.<\/p>\n
