S<\/strong>easoned golfers, Bregger Kaingwe and Carol Banda, underlined their credentials when they emerged winners of the TNM golf tournament at Nchalo Sports Club in Chikwawa on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Organised under the theme \u2018Think Digital\u2019, the tournament attracted a field of 76 golfers.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s section, Kaingwe used his familiarity with the Nchalo course to score 44 stableford points to win the accolade.<\/p>\n

Davis Sibande scored 39 points to finish second while Peter Maturi managed 38 points to claim third position.<\/p>\n

Country Club Limbe Golf Captain, Yotamu Saka, collected 36 points to finish fourth. Harold \u2018Shoulder\u2019 Lungu came fifth with 35 points.<\/p>\n

Kaingwe said it was an emotional tournament because it was his first time to win a TNM-sponsored golf tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy preparations for this tournament were fantastic and I have been repaid. This is historic on my part,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In the ladies section, Banda was counted in with 30 points to win the title whereas second-placed Estelle Roberts was counted out after also finishing with 30 points.<\/p>\n

Banda said she was longing to reclaim a TNM trophy having last won it in 2014.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s tournament is unique. I follow TNM wherever they organise golf but this year it was my first time to participate in the tournament and I am happy to have won,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Banda, with a handicap of 20, had three pars and blanked on one.<\/p>\n

In the seniors category, Chrispin Ng\u2019oma, won with 33 points.<\/p>\n

TNM Chief Officer (Consumer Services), Dan Makata, said the tournament provided the firm with the best platform to interact with clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had good support here at Nchalo because golfers also came from Limbe, Thyolo, Mulanje, Blantyre, Zomba and Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
