{"id":53025,"date":"2017-09-06T09:20:28","date_gmt":"2017-09-06T07:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=53025"},"modified":"2017-09-06T09:54:20","modified_gmt":"2017-09-06T07:54:20","slug":"heavy-k-excited-to-perform-in-malawi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/09\/06\/heavy-k-excited-to-perform-in-malawi\/","title":{"rendered":"Heavy K excited to perform in Malawi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South African artist Heavy K has said he is excited to perform in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The record producer and DJ will perform in Blantyre on Saturday as part of celebrating Fifteen Bar &amp; Lounge\u2019s first birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Heavy K, real name Mkhululi Siqula, is well-known for his songs \u2018Wena\u2019, \u2018Woza Nana\u2019 and \u2018Celebration\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Co-owner of Fifteen Sports Bar &amp; Lounge James Makunje Jnr, said, after talking to Heavy K, the artist indicated that he was looking forward to performing in Malawi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is very positive about his upcoming performance and we are ready to give our fans the perfect environment so that they can enjoy his performance,\u201d Makunje Jnr said.<\/p>\n<p>He said Heavy K\u2019s choice was made to give the fans what they asked for and it only shows the standards that Fifteen Bar &amp; Lounge wants to set.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course we will continue supporting local artists through a number of initiatives but we also realise that local artists should share the stage with international artists regularly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeavy K\u2019s music is loved by many and he is a brilliant live performer. We expect nothing but fireworks on the night, it is a celebration so we would like our customers to just enjoy themselves as much as they can,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Makunje Jnr said the lounge continues to receive support which has exceeded their expectations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been an interesting journey from the time we opened the lounge until now. We have learned so much ,which has helped us better our craft and we keep learning new things every day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Makunje Jnr also thanked the current sponsors Carlsberg Chill, Mango Entertainment and Capital FM.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur celebration has been made possible by the sponsors for believing in what the youth are doing; we are determined to change the entertainment landscape in Malawi. We are also still talking to more potential sponsors who would likely join us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Since its establishment, Fifteen Sports Bar &amp; Lounge has hosted a number of local initiatives which include Africa-themed fashion show and music performances.<\/p>\n<p>The lounge also supported the inaugural Nyasa Music Awards which took place at Comesa in Blantyre in May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>South African artist Heavy K has said he is excited to perform in the country.
