Devlin Chokazinga and Arnes Araujo emerged champions of their respective categories for National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Golf Tournament at Thyolo Sports Club on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Chokazinga won the men\u2019s section with 43 points in the tournament that attracted 42 golfers.<\/p>\n
Thyolo Sports Club Captain, Rajeen Rawat, finished on second position with 41 points whereas veteran Phillip Phambana claimed third place with 40 points.<\/p>\n
Speaking after prize presentation, Chokazinga said the competition was tough but he was composed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe enjoyed the day on the golf course and my playing partners were also fantastic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In the men\u2019s subsidiary prizes, Bregger Kaingwe hit the longest drive on hole nine whereas Honest Chirwa won nearest to the pin on hole three.<\/p>\n
In the ladies\u2019 section, Araujo was simply unplayable as she scored the day\u2019s most points, 44. She also won the nearest to the pin on hole 12.<\/p>\n
Connie Karuku, who is enjoying rich vein of form, finished as the runner-up with 43 points. She also hit the longest drive on hole number 14.<\/p>\n
NBM General Manager, Harold Jiya, said this year\u2019s tournament was unique because they discussed with their customers about services the bank has introduced.<\/p>\n
