BE FORWARD Wanderers striker Khumbo Ng\u2019ambi might leave the club due to lack of game-time, an inside source has confirmed. The source has said the Airtel Top 8 top goal scorer has handed in his resignation letter.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is always on the bench and sometimes plays in the last few minutes of games. This frustrates him as he strives to improve his career,\u201d said the source speaking on condition of anonmity. Ng\u2019ambi has been linked with a switch to rivals, Nyasa Big Bullets. But Wanderers Chairperson, Gift Mkandawire, expressed ignorance on the matter.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know nothing about that and I have not seen his letter. These may just be those transfer rumours supporters make. \u201cMaybe after the coming in of Esau Kanyenda, some supporters think he will be a threat to Khumbo. Otherwise, we are okay with him in our camp. He is among our top strikers,\u201d Mkandawire said.<\/p>\n
Bullets interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, said he was also in the dark about the player being linked to the People\u2019s Team.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have never approached him and he has never approached us for a possible move to our team. Maybe our supporters have their interest in him, but those may just be rumours, especially with the transfer window being open,\u201d Chigoga said.<\/p>\n
Ng\u2019ambi refused to comment on the matter. The former Under-20 national team striker was part of the squad that travelled to Mozambique for a friendly match against Quelimane.<\/p>\n
He also played in the semifinal match against Moyale Barracks last weekend at Mzuzu Stadium where he also converted his spot-kick during post-match penalties.<\/p>\n
