W<\/strong>ith heavy rains disrupting their first Utsi Tuluka <\/em>Gospel concert at Blantyre\u2019s BAT Ground in March this year, Team Entertainers has decided to re-stage the show.<\/p>\n

The show is on at the same venue on Sunday, featuring, among others, veteran musician Paul Banda, who was recently decorated with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) 25th anniversary celebrations held in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Zonse Nzabwino\u2019 star will come face to face with other awardees Ethel Kamwendo Banda, who was voted Best Female Artist during the Cosoma Awards, and Ndirande Anglican Voices, who claimed the Best Choral Award.<\/p>\n

The other gospel artists performing at the concert are Gwamba, Limbani Simenti, Thocco Katimba, Evans Mereka, The Great Angels Choir, Favoured Martha and Miracle Chinga.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am excited to perform at this concert. Team Entertainers always works hard to put up great shows and, so, I will be there without fail,\u201d Paul said.<\/p>\n

Team Entertainers Director, Tonderai Banda, said they were happy to re-do the concert as a fulfillment of the promise they made to their fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou may recall that we organised this gospel concert at the same venue earlier in the year where we also launched a new stage. But the show failed to proceed due to heavy rains and, as such, we promised to do it again and here we are,\u201d Tonderai said.<\/p>\n

He said they have kept their promise and that this time around they have made it better than the first one by, notably, beefing up the line-up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have prepared well and we are hoping for the best this time around. At the moment, I can say that we are ready 100 percent,\u201d Tonderai said.<\/p>\n

He also said that the gospel concert is part of the warm-up ahead of the Sound and Light concert to be held in Salima from September 29 to 30 this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce again, we have not compromised on the stage, we are putting together an international stage with everything on it; you talk of smoke and lights and that is why we are calling it Utsi Tuluka<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Team Entertainers started mounting the stage on Wednesday night and were expected to finalise it yesterday ahead of the concert on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do not want to compromise on anything. We, as Team Entertainers, have always respected our audience because they are the ones who make things happen. Again, we respect our artists and all we can say is that all the artists are ready and have been having massive rehearsals,\u201d Tonderai said.<\/p>\n

This is a platform that will give gospel artists a chance to show what they are made of.<\/p>\n

Many gospel artists have relaxed on their performances of late, with others taking their audiences for granted and not spending much time on rehearsals.<\/p>\n

Others have even failed to glitter, offering nothing new to the audience. It, therefore, remains to be seen whether there will be surprises on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
