{"id":52732,"date":"2017-08-31T10:09:16","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T08:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=52732"},"modified":"2017-08-31T10:09:20","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T08:09:20","slug":"fischer-kondowe-seeks-big-bullets-contract-termination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/08\/31\/fischer-kondowe-seeks-big-bullets-contract-termination\/","title":{"rendered":"Fischer Kondowe seeks Big Bullets\u2019 contract termination"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>N<\/strong>yasa Big Bullets veteran winger Fischer Kondowe has asked for the unilateral termination of his contract in frustration over outstanding signing-on fees amounting to K3 million.<\/p>\n<p>Kondowe and Bullets interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, Wednesday, separately, confirmed the development.<\/p>\n<p>Kondowe handed in his resignation letter to Bullets Team Manager, James Chilapondwa, after yesterday\u2019s training session at Blantyre Sports Club.<\/p>\n<p>The winger confirmed tendering his resignation letter to Bullets\u2019 technical panel and sponsor, Nyasa Manufacturing Company.<\/p>\n<p>Kondowe said he had lost patience after waiting for his signing- fees from last year, yet all new players pocketed their money.<\/p>\n<p>He said he kept playing due to his loyalty to the team he joined via its youth team in mid 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is true that I have written the management of the club about the termination of the contract because I have observed that something is not on at the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt seems like I am begging to play for this club yet I signed a contract and I am committed to playing for Bullets. The club signed new players and they gave them their signing-on fees, so what is wrong with me?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been requesting for my money from last year, but up to now I have not received anything. For now, I will not talk much until I discuss the matter again with management,\u201d Kondowe said.<\/p>\n<p>Chigoga said he was yet to receive Kondowe\u2019s letter.<\/p>\n<p>Chigoga downplayed the issue, saying Kondowe might have taken the decision out of anger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will be able to competently respond when I see the contents of the letter. His case is administrative [in nature] and the matter of the contract has to be handled with care,\u201d Chigoga said.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Kondowe wanted out of Bullets. In 2013, Kondowe trained with Bullets rivals Be Forward Wanderers only to return to the People\u2019s Team.<\/p>\n<p>Kondowe, who also had stints in South Africa with Umtata Bush Bucks (now defunct), Blomfontein Celtic and Black Leopards, was part of the Bullets\u2019 squad that participated in Caf Champions League in 2004 and 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Rules and regulations of Fifa under articles 14 and 15, state that \u201ca contract may be terminated by either party without consequences of any kind (either payment of compensation or imposition of sporting sanctions) where there is \u2018just cause\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArticle 15, allows an \u2018established professional\u2019 to terminate his contract on the grounds of \u2018sporting just cause\u2019 if he has appeared in fewer than 10 percent of the official matches in which his club has been involved during the season,\u201d the article reads.<\/p>\n<p>Article 17 adds: \u201cIf a contract is terminated without just cause, the person in breach will have to pay compensation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nyasa Big Bullets veteran winger Fischer Kondowe has asked for the unilateral termination of his contract in frustration over outstanding signing-on fees amounting to K3 million.
