Jomo Cosmos-bound striker Muhammad Sulumba and Micium Mhone have joined Flames camp in preparation for a friendly match against Uganda slated for July 6 at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
The two were omitted in the 25-member squad because they were undergoing trials in South Africa.<\/p>\n
In an interview on Wednesday, Flames interim coach Ernest Mtawali, confirmed that the duo has been included alongside current TNM Super League top goal scorer Innocent Bokosi.<\/p>\n
Mtawali said the three players have been called as replacements for injured Tizgobere Kumwenda, Ernest Tambe and Zico Nkanda.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the players that were called into camp have arrived except the three who are injured. We are expecting Simplex Nthala to join us on Thursday,\u201d said Mtawali in a telephone interview.<\/p>\n
He said the preparations have been going on smoothly ahead of the showdown.<\/p>\n
Flames are using the friendly match against Uganda as part of their preparations for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Swaziland in September.<\/p>\n
Malawi lost 1-2 to Zimbabwe in the opening match of the Afcon qualifiers last.<\/p>\n
The game against Uganda will be the first for Mtawali and his deputy Gerald Phiri Senior.<\/p>\n
