{"id":52391,"date":"2017-08-25T13:13:55","date_gmt":"2017-08-25T11:13:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=52391"},"modified":"2017-08-25T13:13:57","modified_gmt":"2017-08-25T11:13:57","slug":"be-forward-wanderers-still-unhappy-with-venue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/08\/25\/be-forward-wanderers-still-unhappy-with-venue\/","title":{"rendered":"Be Forward Wanderers Still unhappy with venue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Be<\/strong> Forward Wanderers have said they will reluctantly honour tomorrow\u2019s Carlsberg Cup semi-final against Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium, insisting that the game should have been shifted to a neutral ground.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, Thursday said they were shocked that Football Association of Malawi (Fam) did not respond to the Nomads\u2019 letter, requesting the venue change.<\/p>\n<p>He added they deserved to play on a neutral venue as is the case with Sunday\u2019s other semi-final between Nyasa Big Bullets and Red Lions at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are even shocked that the head of Fam\u2019s Competitions Sub-Committee [Jabar Alide] said our request would incite violence when we did not address our letter to the supporters but Fam,\u201d Butao said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnother issue is about the ban of Alfred Manyozo. He has been banned for four games for an incident that happened on the pitch [during the quarter-final against Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium]. The referee felt the incident deserved just a yellow card. By banning him, does Fam mean that the referee did not make a competent decision?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alide, earlier, said Wanderers were creating issues out of nothing as the venue decision was informed by the cup\u2019s rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Manyozo\u2019s ban cost him a call up to Malawi National Football Team which is in camp ahead of a six-nation invitational tournament scheduled to start on August 31 in Morocco.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Nomads have suffered a blow as attacking midfielder Jafali Chande has been ruled out of the match against Moyale due to a yellow card suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers Team Manager, Stevie Madeira, confirmed Chande\u2019s suspension, saying: \u201cMissing players such as Chande is not good news but there is nothing we can do. I hope others will perform the way Chande would have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moyale Team Manager, Gerald Kanje, yesterday said they were happy that Fam had put its foot down on the venue issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are happy that the venue has not changed.
