{"id":52361,"date":"2017-08-25T08:57:23","date_gmt":"2017-08-25T06:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=52361"},"modified":"2017-08-25T08:57:24","modified_gmt":"2017-08-25T06:57:24","slug":"purple-c-moves-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/08\/25\/purple-c-moves-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Purple C moves on"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At 19, Purple C, real name Albert Makhaliremo, is an award-winning reggae dance-hall artist.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, he seems to be moving fast as, this month, he has released the album Extraordinary, coming immediately after \u2018Random intentions\u2019 mixtape, which was released last year.<\/p>\n<p>Extraordinary has 15 songs composed by Purple C and produced by Abstract Records, a body comprising two producers namely EQ and Mzota (Abstract records) and Successor as talent manager .<\/p>\n<p>Purple C said in an interview that his album is aiming at local and international markets, specifically targeting the youth and the elderly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe theme of the album is centred on uplifting people and promoting love,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Some of his songs have sailed directly into the welcoming arms of music fans, notably \u2018The good life\u2019, which is basically a party song.<\/p>\n<p>He explains why he has decided to release one song ahead of the launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want people to have a feel of the music, get familiar with it and to get them ready for the massive album launch that is on offer.<\/p>\n<p>The Album has featured Malawi\u2019s award-winning rhythm and blues icon Theo Thompson and fast-rising vocalist and singer Tsar Leo.<\/p>\n<p>Purple C said he is excited that the project has been completed: \u201cWe have been working on this album since last year, and I am excited that we are finally releasing this album\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank my manager Successor and team for the trust they have in my talent. I also would like to thank my producers for their effort,\u201d Purple C said.<\/p>\n<p>Extra ordinary is Purple C\u2019s first album after breaking into the music scene in 2015 and scooping the award of Best New Comer [2016-2017] in Nyasa Music Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The album has songs such as \u2018Turn me over\u2019, \u2018Malawi\u2019 and \u2018Take time\u2019 featuring Theo Thomson.<\/p>\n<p>The artist said the album would be spiced with videos that have just been worked on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVery soon, we will announce dates of releasing the videos we have worked on. People should know that we selected songs from the album to satisfy people that love my music,\u201d Purple C said.<\/p>\n<p>Purple C introduced his art with songs such as \u2018Hot like a sun\u2019, \u2018Not at all\u2019 and \u2018Heart\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He was nominated as the UMP best new artist in 2016 but he won an award in a similar category in Nyasa Music Awards in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Extraordinary is currently being sold in Blantyre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At 19, Purple C, real name Albert Makhaliremo, is an award-winning reggae dance-hall artist.
