Tension is building among delegates in the Livingstonia Synod of Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) ahead of the General Conference scheduled for this weekend.<\/p>\n
Inside sources have tipped The Daily Times <\/em>that church ministers and other session clerks are planning to move an impeachment motion against Synod Moderator Reverend John Gondwe accusing him of failing to resolve the ongoing wrangles within the synod.<\/p>\n The sources have also said some ministers are planning to make a suspension motion against Reverends Timothy Nyasulu and Clifford Baloyi for launching a court battle against the synod, a thing they say is against the church\u2019s doctrine.<\/p>\n Nyasulu and Baloyi took the synod to court to contest the synod\u2019s last elections which the two argue were illegal.<\/p>\n However, while confirming about the conference, Gondwe expressed ignorance over the agendas, saying they were still in preparatory stage.<\/p>\n When probed further, Gondwe refused to comment, saying he was locked in a meeting.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s true the conference is on, but I cannot confirm of all what is going to be discussed. I may not be aware of all the developments ahead of the meeting,\u201d Gondwe said.<\/p>\n But speaking to Times Exclusive <\/em>on Saturday, Gondwe said he has not failed to bring sanity in the church\u2019s establishment, arguing he only does what Christians ask him to do.<\/p>\n According to the sources, the Baloyi and Nyasulu\u2019s camp wants delegates to suspend current General Secretary Levi Nyondo, arguing the ongoing mediation process between parties in the court case should be taking place while he is out of office.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have started this week on a very bad note. There have been a number of meetings which ended in deadlocks. We don\u2019t seem to be agreeing on anything.
