F<\/strong>ootball Association of Malawi (Fam) has, once again, slapped Nyasa Big Bullets with a K500,000 for the unruly behaviour of their supporters.<\/p>\n

In a letter signed by Fam General Secretary, Alfred Gunda, Bullets were faulted for failing to tame their supporter Lyton Kabuwaza from harassing Cobbe Barracks\u2019 players during a Carlsberg Cup quarter-final match at Balaka Stadium last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cBig Bullets Football Club was found guilty of failing to take precautionary measures to control their supporter Lyton Thobo Kabuwaza from bullying Cobbe Barracks\u2019 players when he poured liquid substances on them as they walked to the dressing room at half-time.<\/p>\n

\u201cBullets Supporters Committee even aided Kabuwaza [into] escaping Police arrest. In line with article 24.12 of the 2017 Carlsberg\u2019s Cup Rules and Regulations, Big Bullets Football Club are fined K500,000 to be paid before the team\u2019s next official fixture,\u201d reads the letter dated August 17, 2017 and addressed to Bullets interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr Kabuwaza is, hereby, banned from entering any stadium hosting association football in Malawi as well taking part in any football related activities for the rest of the 2017 football season. Big Bullets Football Club is ordered to ensure compliance of the ban imposed on Mr. Lyton Kabuwaza.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, Fam fined Bullets K800,000 after some of their supporters assaulted a Kamuzu Barracks\u2019 official earlier this match at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre during a Carlsberg Cup round-of- 16-match.<\/p>\n

Bullets will, this month alone, pay fines totalling K2.8 million for other related offences in cup and league games.<\/p>\n

Bullets are expected to pay their latest fine before their next game. If unsatisfied with the fine, they can appeal, provided they pay K500,000 appeal fee.<\/p>\n

Chigoga yesterday wondered as to why Fam did not hear out Bullets before coming up with the fine.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs it in keeping with natural justice to fine us before being heard and<\/p>\n

not even being charged for the purported offences? Are we not being unfairly treated as a team?<\/p>\n

\u201cNow you would like us to appeal the verdict. I do not want to think that this was predetermined that Bullets would be penalised what come may. As FA, exercise fairness because as a team we are already burdened by these fines and you all know it,\u201d he said.A few weeks ago, Super League of Malawi also imposed a K1.5 million fine on Bullets following the unruly behaviour of their fans in Lilongwe during a match against Silver Strikers.<\/p>\n

Rivals Be Forward Wanderers have also been fined K500,000 with their midfielder Alfred Manyozo junior banned for four games for inciting violence in last week\u2019s Carlsberg Cup quarter-final against Blue Eagles in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
