There was commotion at Chinsapo in Lilongwe on Saturday after a body of a woman was found in a decomposed state.<\/p>\n
The deceased, Martha Mwamunyila, was married to Lyson Mateyu but the couple was living in a house belonging to Mateyu\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n
The angry residents suspected that Mwamunyila was killed by her brother-in-law, Saidi, who was living in the same house.<\/p>\n
When they found the body, the people started demolishing the house.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis woman was living in this house. She went missing about a week ago, only to find her dead. They know something about it,\u201d said one of the residents.<\/p>\n
Lilongwe Police Station Public Relations Officer, Kingsley Dandaula, said police arrested Saidi in connection with the murder.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we heard about the incident, we rushed to the scene to find out what happened. We took family members to police for protective custody. We have, however, arrested Saidi in connection with the murder,\u201d Dandaula said.<\/p>\n
He, however, said Mateyu is at large.<\/p>\n
Mwamunyila came from Mwankinja Village, Traditional Authority Kyungu in Karonga.<\/p>\n
