{"id":51544,"date":"2017-08-10T09:13:25","date_gmt":"2017-08-10T07:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=51544"},"modified":"2017-08-10T09:13:25","modified_gmt":"2017-08-10T07:13:25","slug":"venture-into-solar-energy-ricotech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/08\/10\/venture-into-solar-energy-ricotech\/","title":{"rendered":"Venture into solar energy\u2014Ricotech"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>M<\/strong>alawian owned Ricotech (Gestetner) and Solsquare Energy Limited have established a pact that is aimed at addressing energy challenges, which are affecting households, public and private sectors, including financial institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The launch of the pact follows months of negotiations, training and surveys by the two institutions so as to develop a mutual understanding that will benefit the already deprived Malawian companies and households.<\/p>\n<p>This coincides with news that the country\u2019s power generator Energy generation Company-Egenco and distributor Electricity Supply corporation of Malawi-Escom have said the country has to brace for tough times as power outages will continues.<\/p>\n<p>According to Managing Director of Ricotech, Faizal Okhai, the power situation in Malawi is precarious hence the need to create a department that will address the challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking at the demand of power, especially manufacturers, hotels, banks\u2014who are our major clients\u2014we decided to unveil the pact to deal with power problems affecting the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Okhai said with Solsquare, the company is poised to light interested households and institutions with state-of-the-art equipment whose lifespan is 25 and 10 years, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>He said they are readily available to supply and install such gadgets as informed by clients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to ensure that right gadgets are installed and fixed by correct people.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Okhai said with the current blackouts which are affecting the country, there is need to venture into solar energy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt does not work well to hear that financial institutions experience blackouts because that is a loss,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Managing Director of Solsquare, Leornhard Eins, they have been approached by many people and financial institutions as to how they could address the situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s better to be part of the solution hence our being here to show commitment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The pact between Ricotech and Solsquare Limited\u2014which is a long-term one\u2014entails that households and institutions that want to utilise its products and services use solar energy for lighting and power.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malawian owned Ricotech (Gestetner) and Solsquare Energy Limited have established a pact that is aimed at addressing energy challenges, which are affecting households, public and private sectors, including financial institutions.
