SILVER Strikers have piled more pressure on TNM Super League leaders Be Forward Wanderers after registering a 3-0 win over struggling rookies Dwangwa United at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe. This means that the Nomads\u2019 lead is down to five points.<\/p>\n
Victor Limbani was the hero of the day after scoring a hat-trick for the Central Bankers to ensure maximum points for the hosts. Limbani opened the floodgates after 34 minutes in the first half before increasing the lead in the 44th minute.<\/p>\n
He then completed his hat trick in stoppage time. The Central Bankers now have 23 points from 11 games. Silver Coach Lovemore Fazili said his team was aiming for a top-of-thetable first round finish. \u201cIt was a fair game. We did not play our usual game. May be fatigue caught up with us but the most important thing was collecting three points,\u201d Fazili said.<\/p>\n
His Dwangwa counterpart, Lloyd Nkhwazi, conceded defeat but refused to throw in the towel in the battle for survival in the top flight. \u201cWe gave them cheap goals because of poor marking especially in defence. The results are not good but there is a long way to go. We are not giving up,\u201d Nkhwazi said.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Rookies Masters Security claimed an important victory when they came from behind to defeat defending champions Kamuzu Barracks (KB) 3-2 at Civo Stadium.<\/p>\n
Vincent Nyangulu hammered a hat trick for the rookies after Diof Simaone and Kelvin Hanganda gave the soldiers the lead. It was KB\u2019s second consecutive defeat in all competitions having lost 5-3 to Bullets on post-match penalties in the Carlsberg Cup on Wednesday in Blantyre.<\/p>\n
