Wounded Silver Strikers and Kamuzu Barracks are hoping to bounce back in the TNM Super League following their shock exit from the Carlsberg Cup midweek.<\/p>\n
Third-placed Silver, having been booted out of the Carlsberg Cup following their 0-1 loss to Red Lions on Wednesday, entertain strugglers Dwangwa United at Nankhaka Stadium today.<\/p>\n
The Central Bankers\u2019 Coach, Lovemore Fazili, said his team has picked itself up after the loss.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat game is gone. Cup games are always tricky. We defeated Lions in the league and a few days later, we met them in the cup.<\/p>\n
“It was always going to be tough as teams are not prepared to lose back-to-back games against the same opponents,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Fazili said Silver had the right players with the right attitude to bounce back strongly.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe race for the championship is a marathon. It is not a sprint. We just have to take each game as it comes. Hopefully, we will do well in this game,\u201d Fazili, whose charges have 20 points from 10 games, said.<\/p>\n
Dwangwa United Technical Director, Lloyd Nkhwazi, said their mission was to move up the table as they are stuck on position 15, with eight points from 11 games.<\/p>\n
Under similar circumstances, TNM Super League Champions, Kamuzu Barracks (KB), after a painful exit from the Carlsberg Cup following a 5-3 post-match penalty loss to Nyasa Big Bullets, have a chance to redeem themselves when they face Masters Security at Civo Stadium.<\/p>\n
KB Team Manager, Francis Shaba, said they have enough arsenal to help them forget their dismal Carlsberg Cup run and concentrate on their title defence challenge.<\/p>\n
The soldiers are on position 10 on the table with 14 points from 10 games whereas league debutants, Masters, lie on position 14 with 10 points.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe may not be in the best position as defending champions but, surely, we are still among the title favourites,\u201d Shaba said.<\/p>\n
The match will provide a tough test for newly-appointed Masters acting co-coaches Jabil Maliro and Lyton Mangani, who replaced the suspended Benjamin Kumwenda.<\/p>\n
