Malawi national football team striker Esau Kanyenda has called it time on his career at Polokwane City in South Africa.<\/p>\n
The former Dwangwa United forward confirmed to the online edition of South Africa\u2019s Kick-Off <\/em>magazine that he was now eyeing a career in coaching.<\/p>\n Kanyenda told the magazine that, with the help of Football Association of Malawi (Fam), he would study coaching.<\/p>\n \u201cI am hanging up my boots now,\u201d Kanyenda told KickOff<\/em>. com.<\/p>\n \u201cNext up for me is coaching because it is something that has always been on my mind. I am actually going back home to pursue coaching with the help of Fam who have indicated that they will assist by sending me to coaching courses.<\/p>\n \u201cI think I have done my part playing and it is now time to move on. There were some offers from NFD [National First Division] teams here but after careful consideration, I thought it is best that I go back home to start with my coaching courses.\u201d<\/p>\n The veteran striker also played for Russian clubs such as Rostov and Lovomotic Moscow. Before moving to Russsia in 2003, Kanyenda had a successful career with Jomo Cosmos.<\/p>\n City publicist Tincy Tema hailed the former Flames\u2019 leading forward.<\/p>\n \u201cKanyenda is a true gentleman who has served the club very well through all of his time with us and is actually someone that we would have liked to keep if there were other opportunities within the club.
