{"id":50977,"date":"2017-07-27T09:31:51","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T07:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=50977"},"modified":"2017-07-27T09:31:52","modified_gmt":"2017-07-27T07:31:52","slug":"caroline-ngwira-returns-for-kukoma-tourney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/07\/27\/caroline-ngwira-returns-for-kukoma-tourney\/","title":{"rendered":"Caroline Ngwira returns for Kukoma tourney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A<\/strong>fter a year-long absence, Malawi netball Queens and Kukoma Diamonds skipper Caroline Mtukule-Ngwira is expected back in action this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Ngwira is expected to feature for Diamonds in the two-day Kukoma Invitational Tournament, which throws off on Saturday at Blantyre Youth Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Ngwira was on maternity break and she eventually gave birth to her second child [Melisa] on December 21 last year.<\/p>\n<p>The influential goal-defender-cum-goal keeper said she was looking forward to helping Diamonds win the four-team tournament that also features Tigresses, Thunder Queens and Alliance Capital Stars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been a long road to action. Previously, I was just working in the gym to recondition myself. I started training with my teammates when the team regrouped in April. The tournament has come at the right time,\u201d Ngwira said.<\/p>\n<p>She also backed the tournament, saying it would help teams prepare for the new season.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Diamonds\u2019 sponsor, Capital Oil Refining Industries\u2019 Sponsorship Coordinator, Violet Kapolo, has challenged the team to impress during the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the organisers are yet to confirm if spectators will pay at the gates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a year-long absence, Malawi netball Queens and Kukoma Diamonds skipper Caroline Mtukule-Ngwira is expected back in action this weekend.
