{"id":50912,"date":"2017-07-26T10:32:56","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T08:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=50912"},"modified":"2017-07-26T10:32:57","modified_gmt":"2017-07-26T08:32:57","slug":"fam-rejects-big-bullets-request-to-postpone-wednesdays-kamuzu-barracks-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/07\/26\/fam-rejects-big-bullets-request-to-postpone-wednesdays-kamuzu-barracks-game\/","title":{"rendered":"Fam rejects Big Bullets\u2019 request to postpone Wednesday\u2019s Kamuzu Barracks game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>F<\/strong>ootball Association of Malawi (Fam) has rejected Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 request to have their Wednesday\u2019s Carlsberg Cup round-of-16 game against Kamuzu Barracks (KB), at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre, postponed.<\/p>\n<p>Fam Competitions Manager, Gomezgani Zakazaka, Tuesday confirmed that Bullets wrote the association to consider shifting the game so that they can concentrate on preparations for Sunday\u2019s TNM Super League match against Be Forward Wanderers at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe could have considered their request if their next game was to be played within 48 hours after the Kamuzu Barracks\u2019 game. But in this case, we are talking about some 92 hours. They can play, rest, start preparations and play again,\u201d Zakazaka said.<\/p>\n<p>The People\u2019s Team face the soldiers after struggling to beat Dwangwa United 1-0 in a Super League match on Saturday at the same venue.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets assistant Coach, Elia Kananji, confirmed requesting the club\u2019s Executive Committee to write Fam over the possible shifting of the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt seems that it will not be possible to have our game postponed as we wanted. We just have to fulfil this fixture,\u201d Kananji said.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, said Fam was yet to respond to the club\u2019s request, adding that they would advise the technical panel to still fulfil today\u2019s fixture.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets defeated KB in a league game a few weeks ago, but all eyes in the red side of town are on the clash against the rivals as there are Blantyre bragging rights at stake.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, KB Coach, Billy Phambala, said they are geared up for the match against Bullets.<\/p>\n<p>Coming from a 3-0 win over Red Lions, Phambala said they were hungry to grab the cup which they have not won in many years.<\/p>\n<p>In other round-of-16 matches lined up today, Silvers Strikers face Red Lions at Balaka Stadium as Dwangwa United take on Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Kasungu Police Stars will meet MDF Marine as Blue Eagles and TN Stars clash at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has rejected Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 request to have their Wednesday\u2019s Carlsberg Cup round-of-16 game against Kamuzu Barracks (KB), at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre, postponed.
