MOYALE Barracks will be looking for revenge as they take on their cross-town rivals, Mzuni FC, this afternoon in a TNM Super League match at Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
With just nine kilometres separating the Lions\u2019 of Kaning\u2019ina\u2019s den and Mzuni\u2019s dwelling place, Luwinga Township, the two sides will surely be throwing everything into the match to earn the Northern City\u2019s bragging rights.<\/p>\n
Moyale may have a six-point advantage over their rivals but the soldiers are yet to find a winning formula against the Green Intellectuals in a competitive match. Mzuni have a dominant record over Moyale, with three wins in the last four league meetings. The last meeting of the two Mzuzu City giants ended in a 1-all draw.<\/p>\n
However, Moyale have been finishing way above Mzuni in the past two seasons\u2019 log tables. Moyale Coach, Charles Kamanga is aware of what Mzuni are capable of doing on their day, and said he was looking forward to ending the students\u2019 dominance of the Mzuzu Derby.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have never beaten them, yes. But enough is enough. This is our time to revenge. We are fully prepared this time and we will do our best to win,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Moyale\u2019s talisman, Deus Mkutu, limped out of a training session on Friday, but the coach said he would be available for selection. \u201cThe team doctor has assured me that his injury is a minor one and he will be fine. Otherwise I do not have any other injury worries ahead of this match,\u201d Kamanga said.<\/p>\n
After enjoying a comfortable 3-1 win over Blantyre United last weekend, Mzuni Assistant Coach, McNerbert Kazuwa, has described the Moyale game as unpredictable. Kazuwa said he knows that Moyale will come flat-out to win the match but maintained that his charges are equally prepared to maintain their record against the Malawi Defence Force side.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are going into the game on the back of several poor results. It is important that last weekend we won. And this game against Moyale will surely be a tough one, but it is one of those games Mzuni would love to win,\u201d Kazuwa explained.<\/p>\n
Mzuni are on position 11 on the table with 12 points from nine games. A win will take them into the top eight, while Moyale must avoid slipping up if they are to stay within range of topping the 16 team pack. In other matches to be played today, league leaders Be Forward Wanderers host Blue Eagles at Balaka as they aim at further consolidating their stay at the summit.<\/p>\n

Chilomoni\u2019s MDC Stadium is set to host the Premier Bet Wizards and Blantyre United match. In yesterday\u2019s matches, league leaders Be Forward Wanderers consolidated their stay at the summit of the log table with a 2-1 win over Chitipa United at Balaka Stadium.<\/p>\n
The win has taken Wanderers to 25 points from 10 games. Jafali Chande was the hero of the day when he scored a brace for the Nomads to open a seven-point gap at the top. Wacheta Mwenifumbo scored Chitipa\u2019s consolation goal.<\/p>\n
In Blantyre, Nyasa Big Bullets returned to winning ways after narrowly edging Dwangwa United 1-0 through Mike Mkwate\u2019s second half goal. Defending champions Kamuzu Barracks were rampant against Red Lions as they thrashed their fellow soldiers 3-1 in Lilongwe. Gift Mbwana scored one goal, with Joel Chipofya grabbing a brace to ensure maximum points for Kamuzu Barracks.<\/p>\n
