Times Group has reiterated its commitment to advocacy for social justice and continued journalistic excellence in telling stories that have an impact on majority of Malawians.<\/p>\n
Times Group Managing Director, Leonnard Chikadya, was speaking in Blantyre Friday night when the company hosted its staff members, who won awards at the May 6, 2017 Misa Gala Dinner, to celebrate the feat.<\/p>\n
For the second year running, Times Group clinched the media house of the year award in both print and electronic (for television) categories at the gala, where a lot of its individual journalists also walked away with various awards in different categories<\/p>\n
During the dinner, Chikadya pledged continued prudence in the media house\u2019s service delivery, saying the awards are a symbol of recognition for the positive service the group has continued to render to the nation.<\/p>\n
He then reiterated the company\u2019s commitment to fairness and balanced reporting which he said remain pivotal in its effectiveness and efficiency.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe always say \u2018Leading is Our Way of Life\u2019; this will continue to be the character that can build us in our integrity, stewardship and in our service. Being a servant means willing to serve others. We are in the business of serving the public and will continue to be the torch bearers so that others can learn through us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He also committed to continued growth of the media house, saying, the business had taken a strategic position to move with time.<\/p>\n
Times Group boasts of being the only media house in the country to offer a holistic media service through its radio, television, newspaper and online platforms.<\/p>\n
And Times Group Editor-in-Chief, George Kasakula, said the media house will continue to serve the nation with substantiated editorial content filled with truth for the benefit of the Malawian citizenry.<\/p>\n
