A week after seeing off defending champions, Kamuzu Barracks (KB) 2-1, Blantyre United face a tricky Mzuzu outing.<\/p>\n
United meet Mzuni FC today then Moyale Barracks tomorrow. Both games are scheduled for Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
United have been inconsistent in recent games.<\/p>\n
Before edging out KB last Sunday at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre, the Super League returnees had lost six times and drawn once.<\/p>\n
The win over KB was United\u2019s first since humiliating their fellow strugglers Chitipa United 4-0 in May.<\/p>\n
United\u2019s interim Coach, Safarao Pompi, admitted that his side is struggling, but thinks his boys can build on their win over KB.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe problem is that we have been rotating our starting XI, game-in, game-out. But that experiment has not done us any good,\u201d Pompi said.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Nonetheless], we have prepared for our games [against Mzuni and Moyale] like we do with any fixture. Surely, the spirit we showed in that win [against KB] has to be transferred into these games.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mzuni, too, are desperate to end their recent poor run of form in league and cup games.<\/p>\n
Alex Ngwira\u2019s men have seen their form decline drastically\u2014their latest defeat being to Dwangwa United in a Carlsberg Cup round of 32 away game during the week.<\/p>\n
However, Ngwira\u2019s song has been the same in his recent post-match interviews.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been creating chances but converting them has been a challenge. But all that is history and we believe this game will give us a turnaround in our Super League campaign,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mzuni should be praying for the good form of goalkeeper Chimwemwe Kunkwawa and attacker Lazarus Nyemera whereas United young goal-tender Christopher Mikuwa, Jide Mbandambanda and striker Brown Mizeye are the visitors\u2019 key players.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
