HIGHLY touted Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 new signing Andrew Kamlete is not ready to feature for the People\u2019s Team as the striker reportedly lacks match fitness.<\/p>\n
Bullets Assistant Coach, Elia Kananji, confirmed that the striker, who returned from Ireland recently, was working his way to fitness.<\/p>\n
\u201cZitengabe nthawi kuti azitolele <\/em>(It will take some time for him to gain match fitness).<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t want to rush him when he is not ready because we might compromise his performance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n It has also transpired that the striker does not require an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) for him to play for Bullets following his move from an Irish club.<\/p>\n Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Transfer Matching System and Club Licensing Manager, Casper Jangale, said Bullets were free to use Kamlete as long as they register him with Super League of Malawi.<\/p>\n \u201cKamlete went to Ireland and he was issued a student visa. He did not need any ITC from us because he was playing, maybe, for a college team. As such, he does not need an ITC to play for Bullets. All they require is to register him with Sulom,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n On his arrival from Ireland, Kamlete said he was not promising the moon.<\/p>\n Recently, Bullets Chairperson, Noel Lipipa, said he had watched Kamlete and was confident that he would help the team.<\/p>\n \u201cThe bomb has arrived and is just waiting before it explodes. Once it explodes, the impact will be huge,\u201d Lipipa told the press on Kamlete\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n Bullets have other forwards, including Bright Munthali, Chiukepo Msowoya, Muhammad Sulumba, Diverson Mlozi, Mussa Manyenje and Collen Nkhulambe.<\/p>\n In the just-ended season in Ireland, Kamlete finished as the top scorer with 28 league goals and 12 in cup games to guide Coolock Village FC to top-flight league promotion.<\/p>\n Kamlete went to Ireland for studies in 2013 after playing for Southern Region lower league team Hawks and Evirom.<\/p>\n While at Hawks, Kamlete won the Premier Division Golden Boot Award before eventually repeating such a feat at Evirom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" HIGHLY touted Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 new signing Andrew Kamlete is not ready to feature for the People\u2019s Team as the striker reportedly lacks match fitness.
