The food was valued at K750,000.<\/p>\n<p>Catering Solutions General Manager, Thumbiko Kondowe, said the Porters race is an extreme sport and that for an athlete to perform well, they require good and nutritious food.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCatering Solutions Ltd is an expert in outdoor events catering and was approached by Porters Race to provide services at the event. However, the organisers did not have the funds to pay for the service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManagement of Catering Solutions recognises that the Porter\u2019s Race is a very important event that goes a long way in helping the growth and development of the tourism sector in the country as it attracts both local and international participants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe, therefore, decided to provide the catering services free of charge as part of our corporate social responsibility,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kondowe, the food that Catering Solutions provided helped to enhance the performance of the athletes, thereby adding to the color and pomp of the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Catering Solutions partnered Porter\u2019s Race this year providing meals to 300 participants.
