{"id":50014,"date":"2017-07-10T12:50:07","date_gmt":"2017-07-10T10:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=50014"},"modified":"2017-07-10T12:50:08","modified_gmt":"2017-07-10T10:50:08","slug":"be-forward-wanderers-extend-their-lead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/07\/10\/be-forward-wanderers-extend-their-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Be Forward Wanderers extend their lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Be Forward Wanderers were in a class of their own as they extended their lead in the TNM Super League with a two-point gap courtesy of a 2-1 win against resilient Red Lions at Balaka Stadium Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The Nomads remain unbeaten and have conceded just once to rise to 19 points from seven games while the Zomba-based soldiers have dropped to fourth position with 15 points.<\/p>\n<p>Red Lions were on the score sheet barely five minutes into the high-tempered game through Peter Makwale who took advantage of Wanderers\u2019 poor organisation at the back.<\/p>\n<p>But a Yamikani Chester goal in the 30th minute breathed a new lease of life into Wanderers\u2019 game and Red Lions began to panic.<\/p>\n<p>Seasoned campaigner Joseph Kamwendo converted a spot kick after a foul on Precious Msosa.<\/p>\n<p>Tempers continued to flare in the match and Red Lions\u2019 midfielder, Mphatso Ngwira was red carded for a foul on Kamwendo in a move that resulted into the Nomads\u2019 second spot kick.<\/p>\n<p>Reds\u2019 goalkeeper became an instant hero after denying Kamwendo to end the match 2-1.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers Team Manager, Steve Madeira, had no kind words for Red Lions, saying they were too physical.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey did not come to play football. They came to harm our players. That is not the way we play football,\u201d Madeira moaned.<\/p>\n<p>Red Lions officials were not available for comment as they went straight to the dressing room immediately after the final whistle.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, defending champions Kamuzu Barracks (KB) endured a miserable trip to the South after losing 2-1 to Blantyre United.<\/p>\n<p>The Lilongwe-based military side now lies ninth on the table with 11 points from nine games.<\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim Sadiki and Rafiq Juma scored for Blantyre United with KB\u2019s consolation goal coming from Kelvin Hanganda.<\/p>\n<p>But the story was different for Moyale, who return to Mzuzu with four points after a 1-1 draw with Azam Tigers. The soldiers collected full points on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Premier Bet Wizards.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Kumwenda found the net for Kaukau while Moyale scored through Deus Nkutu.<\/p>\n<p>The Lions of Kaning\u2019ina are now second with 17 points from nine games.<\/p>\n<p>Chitipa United left the Central Region pointless as they lost 3-0 to Blue Eagles.
