Mzuni FC\u2019s poor run of form in the TNM Super League forced the team\u2019s management to hold a crisis meeting on Monday.<\/p>\n
But the club\u2019s General Secretary (GS), Khumbo Kumwenda, has played down the significance of the meeting.<\/p>\n
\u201cI may be wrong if I can describe our Monday\u2019s gathering as a crisis meeting. Usually, we meet at the start of every week to analyse our performance and to map the way forward,\u201d he said while keeping the agenda of the meeting under wraps.<\/p>\n
Mzuni\u2019s first league loss (2-0 to Nyasa Big Bullets last month) came days after the resignation of assistant Coach Millias Pofera.<\/p>\n
But the GS said this was just \u201ca mere coincidence\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe team had Alex Ngwira and McNerbart Kazuwa as Coach and assistant Coach, respectively, for two years, before he [Pofera] came in. So, we cannot say that the team is not performing well just because of one man,\u201d Kumwenda added.<\/p>\n
After making a convincing start to the 2017 league campaign, Mzuni have lost the last three games and are winless in five games.<\/p>\n
In a post-match interview after Saturday\u2019s 1-0 home loss to Premier Bet Wizards, Ngwira described the losses as normal.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been creating chances but the problem is scoring. But that is something that can be worked out in the shortest period possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mzuni, who are on position 11 with nine points, have scored seven goals in eight league matches and are winless at their backyard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
