The Flames\u2019 on-and-off forward, Robin Ngalande, has been offered a chance of a South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) return after Maritzburg United invited him to discuss personal terms.<\/p>\n
The former Atletico Madrid striker, who is in the final stages of his six-term deal with TNM Super League rookies, Masters Security FC, flew out to South Africa yesterday.<\/p>\n
His South African Manager, Paul Mitchell, confirmed, saying: \u201cHe is travelling to South Africa for talks with one club\u201d.<\/p>\n
Ngalande, who struggled at Bidvest Wits, Ajax Cape Town and Platinum Stars before returning home last season, has scored three league goals in eight games for Masters.<\/p>\n
Masters General Secretary, Zacharia Nyirenda, yesterday confirmed giving Ngalande the green light to talk to Maritzburg.<\/p>\n
The PSL club has since, on its Facebook page, announced the release of defenders Tumelo Mogapi, Happy Mashau, goalkeeper Lindokuhle Mathebula and midfielder Tsepeletso Motjatji \u201cto make way for new signings as we look at strengthening the team for next season\u201d.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Mitchell has confirmed that Flames versatile attacker, Gerald Phiri Jnr, has returned to Absa PSL champions, Bidvest Wits, ahead of the new season.<\/p>\n
\u201cBidvest have indicated that Gerald will be one of their registered foreigners this season. And he is now in pre-season training with them. Others have also been interested in him but he is contracted to Bidvest,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd he will remain there unless things change before the closure of the transfer window [next month]. I expect Gerald to be in the colours of the league champions and in Caf Champions League\u201d.<\/p>\n
Phiri had a successful loan spell at Platinum Stars last season, scoring two goals in some 18 games.<\/p>\n
The former Be Forward Wanderers and Caps United winger joined Wits in 2016 after impressing for the Flames at the 2015 Cosafa Castle Cup held in South Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
