The song explores Malawi\u2019s traditional dances, food, languages and dressing among other cultural practices.<\/p>\n
In the first verse, she sings, \u201c\u2026Timadya nkhwani wa matimati, kuphika thobwa la khatikhati\/ Ku Malawi, Manganje, yamba kuvina usathawe\/ Ku Nsanje, mwa chaje, chi Sena chiyankhulo chake\/ Tikafuna Utaka, sitichita kusaka, Lake Malawi is blessed with some beautiful fish.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n \u201cMalawi\u201d also tackles themes of hard work and patriotism.<\/p>\n \u201cUdya bwanji osalima? Ulemera bwanji osavepa? Nsanje, mtima osadekha kukhala ndi anthu nzosatheka,\u201d <\/em>she sings in the second verse.<\/p>\n Commenting on the song, Lush Africa\u2019s Lorraine Mopiwa Kljaji\u0107 said the re-branded Temwah will now pursue Afro pop music as a way to cross borders, putting her in a position to collaborate with international artists.<\/p>\n \u201cTemwah approached us last year in November to manage her. We signed her in January this year. She has been working hard in studio experimenting different sounds because we want her to be different. \u201cMalawi\u201d is her first song under Lush Africa,\u201d Lorraine disclosed.<\/p>\n Real name, Temwa Gondwe, the songstress started singing when she was young in church but recorded her first song in 2009.
