Former Silver Strikers forward Chawanangwa Kaonga continues to make headlines in Mozambique as he is setting alight the Mocambola League in his debut season.<\/p>\n
Kaonga hammered a brace to inspire Chibuto to a 3-1 victory over Beira in a league match played on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
So far, Kaonga has scored seven goals for Chibuto in 11 matches in the league.<\/p>\n
He is third on Mocambola League scorers chart, two behind the leading goalscorer.<\/p>\n
In an interview on Thursday, Kaonga said he was delighted with his goal-scoring form in Mozambique claiming he was aiming for the Golden Boot Award in his debut season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have settled well and I am working hard to advance my football career,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kaonga also disclosed that he fancies a move to South African league in the near future.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am dreaming of playing football in South Africa soon. With God anything is possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chibuto are on position seven with 27 points from 11 games.<\/p>\n
Kaonga joined Chibuto FC on a three-year deal at a fee of around K7.2 million.<\/p>\n
Before joining Chibuto, Chawanangwa was linked with a move to Big Bullets but the deal did not go through after Silver refused, saying the player could not be sold to a local club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
