In keeping with its tradition of promoting tobacco production in Malawi, JTI has introduced a grower incentive plan dubbed Mlimi Wozitsata.<\/p>\n
Announcing the launch of the incentive, JTI Leaf Malawi Corporate Affairs and Communication Director, Harold Msusa, said JTI realises the important role growers play and it holds that they should be recognised.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur growers have given us quality leaf this year and as a company, we decided to award by giving them exciting prizes. We are so far impressed with the type of tobacco growers are bringing to the floors this year,\u201d Msusa said.<\/p>\n
He said a total of 5, 000 growers will receive different prizes ranging from solar panels, flex pumps and JTI branded apparels. According to Msusa, the incentive plan runs until the end of this year\u2019s tobacco marketing season.<\/p>\n
Msusa said all JTI contracted growers are eligible to enter the incentive plan. What is required of them is to send good quality tobacco, well graded and without NTRM and should meet the agreed volumes.<\/p>\n
\u201cJTI will also award the grower who will sell tobacco at the highest price than any other grower. As you know the price of tobacco goes together with quality, this is why we are asking growers to give us quality leaf to increase their chances of winning,\u201d Msusa said.<\/p>\n
He said the identification of eligible growers will be done through Leaf-Point Data and BW data on a weekly basis.<\/p>\n
The first prize in the grower incentive plan is solar panels with flex pumps as second prize. Other weekly prizes include JTI branded t-shirts and caps.<\/p>\n
Mlimi wozitsata will run up to the end of the 2016- 2017 marketing season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
