{"id":49009,"date":"2017-06-23T09:51:26","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T07:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=49009"},"modified":"2017-06-23T09:51:28","modified_gmt":"2017-06-23T07:51:28","slug":"the-queens-players-vow-to-impress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/06\/23\/the-queens-players-vow-to-impress\/","title":{"rendered":"The Queens players vow to impress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi National Netball Team\u2019s new players have vowed to impress during the African Netball Championship which throws off on Saturday in Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>The Queens have Juliet Sambo, Wezzie Mzemba- Msiska, Colleta Mwalilino and Alinafe Kamwala gunning to make their debuts in the absence of six regulars who are not with the team.<\/p>\n<p>Mwawi Kumwenda, Caroline Mtukule-Ngwira, Grace Mwafulirwa-Mhango, Towera Vinkhumbo- Nyirenda, Takondwa Lwazi and Sindie Simtowe- Msowoya failed to travel with the team on various grounds.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking from the East African country where the team arrived on Monday, one of the newcomers, Sambo, said it was time to prove that they can deliver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the chance we have all been waiting for. I am confident that as new players, we will deliver to help our team shine,\u201d said the Blue Eagles goalkeeper-cum-defender.<\/p>\n<p>Sambo also hailed the Griffin Saenda-led technical panel for being supportive.<\/p>\n<p>On her part, Mzemba-Msiska, called for support from fellow players and the entire nation for them to lift the cup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery netballer dreams about playing for the Queens and this is our time. We hope our colleagues who have been there will continue supporting us.
