Marvelous Deeds will hold their first big show at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe Saturday.<\/p>\n
This is their first show at the venue which has hosted several international acts.<\/p>\n
The group is made up of Francis Phiri, Weston Chipwaila and Abel Sanena.<\/p>\n
The trio said yesterday that they were geared for this special show which will give them an opportunity to perform more songs.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn our other shows we have had bigger line-ups and this has restricted us to performing only a few songs but I assure people that they will see something different during this show,\u201d Sanena said.<\/p>\n
He added that, to show their seriousness in the game, they will only have three curtainraisers, who will also have time to perform more songs.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis platform will also give us a chance to talk about our journey as Marvelous Deeds. Sometimes we as musicians, have failed to create platforms where we can properly engage our fans. A platform where you can rightly answer their questions as to why you composed some of the songs,\u201d Chipwaila said.<\/p>\n
He said this was now a platform for them to talk about their journey and also get views from people on their music.<\/p>\n
Marvelous Deeds will share the stage with Patience Namadingo, The Great Angels and United for Worship.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have not had a chance to organise our own show at BICC. Most of our shows in Lilongwe have been at other venues. But we thought we should try this ground. As gospel musicians we are also using this platform to spread the word of God and this will be a very good night,\u201d Phiri said.<\/p>\n
Marvelous Deeds has four albums to their credit, namely Matamando, Muli Nane Cholinga, Sanathane Nane <\/em>and the latest Back to Sender<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a long journey but we have worked hard and, as members, we have been together for more than 10 years.
