Again we want to give people a chance to appreciate these movies. This is on top of Hollywood movie which are our main focus,” Jere said.

He said M Theatre has apart from movies, opened its doors to events.

“We are actually open to hosting private movies for private parties, documentaries for organisations. We have Cinema One which is for movies and the capacity is 231,” he said.

Jere said Cinema One was filled to capacity when they were showing James Bond movies.

“We also have Cinema Two whose capacity is 265. This has a stage and we are using it for holding concerts and other private functions,” he said.

In another development, Jere said they are looking for comedians as they want to start stand-up comedy this month.

“We are starting stand-up comedy end June and we are calling upon comedians to submit names but we want clean comedians that can make people laugh and the comedies should be in English and Chichewa,” Jere said.

He also said that the continuity of the comedy show will depend on how many comedians they get on board.

“Let me also say it again that M Theatre is open for events and the space is available for hire for any functions”.

Jere also indicated that they are still using HD in screening movies and that they have not yet brought in 3D.

“We will only bring 3D when business picks up but, having run for a year and half, business is still tough.
