Bravehearts and Central Knights continued their impressive performances in the Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) after registering victories last weekend.<\/p>\n
The newly promoted side, Bravehearts, whitewashed giants Mimbulu 74-57 in an entertaining match at Civo Basketball Court on Saturday night while Knights registered an emphatic 81-63 victory over Blazers at the same venue on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Led by Madalitso Kadiwa and Hydin Mafuta, Bravehearts were too good for Mimbulu for the better part of the game.<\/p>\n
Featuring the likes of Edgar Ng\u2019ong\u2019ola, Mimbulu completely switched off in the last quarter as Bravehearts pounded them mercilessly.<\/p>\n
At the end of the match, Bravehearts captain, Kadiwa, warned his charges to guard against complacency.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have started the league on a high but we should be careful because other teams will be coming hard on us. This is the tough league and we can not afford to relax,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bravehearts have maintained their unbeaten run in the league having claimed 15 points from five games.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Swaziland-bound Knights showed class and determination throughout the game when they trounced Blazers.<\/p>\n
Knights captain, Lucky Makonokaya, said this year\u2019s league will be the most exciting ever.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt seems there are more good teams compared to last season. This will surely make the season exciting and entertaining,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In other games, Lady Dynamites beat Lady Cougars 43-35 in the women\u2019s league with Central Spartans defeating Trojans 111-9 in the men\u2019s developmental league.<\/p>\n
The top four teams compete in the play-offs to determine the champions at the end of the season. Knights are defending champions having won the title last year after beating Cougars 2-1 in the best of three series.<\/p>\n
