Former Flames hitman, Esau Kanyenda, has a doubtful future at his South African Premier Soccer League side, Polokwane City.<\/p>\n
According to KickOff.com, the veteran striker is out of contract at the end of the month having agreed to a new deal at the beginning of the season, which stretched his time to five years with the club.<\/p>\n
Polokwane is the only club that Kanyenda has played for since his return from a lengthy spell in Russia at the start of the 2012\/13 campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis contract is up at the end of June with the club yet to make any commitment with regards to an extension,\u201d Kickoff.com quoted a source as saying.<\/p>\n
Though the club is already on off-season, the 35-year-old is yet to travel back to Malawi as he is believed to be awaiting clarification over his future in Polokwane.<\/p>\n
The amount of game-time that Kanyenda has received in the last two years has dwindled, yet he remains an influential squad player.<\/p>\n
Kickoff.com reports that Kanyenda still has the option of heading back home to play for (Nyasa) Big Bullets should he not be able to find another PSL club to play for next season.<\/p>\n
But Bullets General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, described the report as mere rumours.<\/p>\n
\u201cFootball is a game of rumours. Bullets are being associated with a lot of issues including players belonging to other clubs. Take that as one of the good rumours,\u201d Chigoga retorted.<\/p>\n
