More Indian firms to come for next Malawi International Trade Fair<\/p>\n
India\u2019s High Commissioner to Malawi has said he will lobby for more Indian companies to attend next year\u2019s Malawi International Trade Fair (MITF).<\/p>\n
Suresh Kumar Menon said this after a tour of pavilions at the ongoing trade fair in Blantyre.<\/p>\n
Menon said he was impressed with the organisation of the fair by the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) and that Malawi has opportunities that can benefit Indian business people.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am impressed with the organisation here. This gives me encouragement to invite more companies from India to showcase their products during next year\u2019s trade fair,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Menon said India is interested in a number of sectors in the country especially the agriculture and energy sectors.<\/p>\n
He said Malawian companies also stand to benefit a lot from their Indian counterparts.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would want to see improved trade between our countries and the trade fair offers a platform for business people to interact and share ideas,\u201d Menon said.<\/p>\n
The 29th Malawi International Trade Fair is being held under the theme, \u201cProductivity, Source of Export Competitiveness\u201d.<\/p>\n
