{"id":47291,"date":"2017-05-29T09:31:34","date_gmt":"2017-05-29T07:31:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=47291"},"modified":"2017-05-29T09:31:35","modified_gmt":"2017-05-29T07:31:35","slug":"griffin-saenda-wont-beef-up-the-queens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/05\/29\/griffin-saenda-wont-beef-up-the-queens\/","title":{"rendered":"Griffin Saenda won\u2019t beef up the Queens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Queens\u2019 Head Coach, Griffin Saenda Senior, rejoined the Malawi National Netball Team camp on Friday upon his return from China.<\/p>\n<p>Saenda missed the opening days of the camp as he was taking a breather in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Upon his return, he instantly took charge of training ahead of the Queens\u2019 participation in the Africa Netball Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Saenda\u2019s immediate task was to assess whether to call for replacements following the unavailability of regulars Mwawi Kumwenda of Melbourne Vixens in Australia, Blue Eagles Sisters centre Takondwa Lwazi and Vice-Captain, Grace Mwafulirwa-Mhango of Tigresses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no point in replacing the three. We called enough players, so we will continue with our preparations and concentrate on the players we have in camp,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Saenda said while in China, he communicated with his assistant [Sam Kanyenda] on the squad\u2019s selection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to be speaking the same language and this is happening because we are on the same page with my colleague [Kanyenda],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Africa Netball Championship will take place next month in Kampala, Uganda.
