Moyale Barracks FC have vowed to end their four-year trophy drought.<\/p>\n
Moyale Interim Coach, Charles Kamanga, made the vow on Saturday when the Lions of Kaning\u2019ina marched into the Airtel Top 8 Cup semi-finals after defeating Mafco 4-2 at Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am glad that we have passed the biggest test [against Mafco]. We are now looking forward to pocketing the K15 million [Airtel Top 8 Cup grand prize]. It has been a long time since we last won a major cup. So, this is our chance,\u201d Kamanga said in a post-match interview.<\/p>\n
The Mzuzu soldiers last laid their hands on a cup in 2013 when they seized the Carlsberg Cup.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Moyale progressed to the last-four 6-2 on aggregate.<\/p>\n
After losing 0-2 at home a week ago, Mafco took a deserved lead after 15 minutes through Victor Mpinganjira.<\/p>\n
However, Khuda Muyaba scored a brace for Moyale to keep the visitors at bay. But Lanken Mwale converted for Mafco shortly after break to level matters.<\/p>\n
Eventually, Wiseman Kamanga and Zondiwe Munthali completed Moyale\u2019s scoring galore in the closing stages of the game.<\/p>\n
Frustrated Mafco Coach, Temwa Msuku, said his team failed to utilise home-ground advantage last weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very disappointed that we conceded twice and failed to score when we were playing at home. Nonetheless, we are wishing them [Moyale] and all the teams that have reached the semi-finals the best of luck,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
