There is another fierce battle in Lilongwe as Kamuzu Barracks\u2019 (KB) soldiers will be hunting for Blue Eagles\u2019 nest in the second leg of the quarter-final of Airtel Top 8 Cup at Nankhaka Stadium this afternoon.<\/p>\n
Eagles had their wings plucked last Sunday when they lost miserably 4-2 in the first leg at Civo Stadium.<\/p>\n
Eagles crawled for the better part of the game before grabbing two vital away second-half goals which could prove decisive this afternoon.<\/p>\n
However, Nankhaka is no longer a fortress as KB defeated the cops 2-0 in a league match last season.<\/p>\n
Head-to-head record favours the soldiers as they have gone three consecutive games unbeaten against the Area 30 police officers.<\/p>\n
The soldiers have scored 10 goals against Eagles and conceded just three goals in three meetings.<\/p>\n
But Eagles gaffer, Audloy Makonyola, has refused to focus much on history.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be a different game all together. We will play our normal game but with a purpose to qualify for the semi-final, \u201che said.<\/p>\n
KB Coach, Billy Phambala, has assembled his arsenal with a simple mission\u2014to finish off Eagles.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a good plan for them. But it is too early to start celebrating, \u201che said.<\/p>\n
Without Captain, Micium Mhone, who is still not cleared, Eagles will put their hopes on Stuart Mbunge and Maxwell Salambula whereas Harvey Nkacha and Manase Chiyesa can cause Eagles plenty of problems.<\/p>\n
Another quarter-final match involves brothers in arms as Moyale Barracks host Mafco at Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
Moyale have a massive advantage heading into the second leg having scored two away vital goals at Chitowe Stadium last weekend.<\/p>\n
But anything can happen in football. The Lions of Kaning\u2019ina\u2019s Interim Head Coach, Charles Kamanga, said his side would continue from where they left in the first leg.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will go flat out. It will not be an easy game but we will make life tough for them, \u201che said.<\/p>\n
His opposite number, Temwa Msuku, on Thursday said his charges were geared to cause an upset.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are just trailing but not out. This is football; let them underrate us at their own peril, \u201che said.<\/p>\n
Mafco have a tough task as they need to score three goals without a reply to progress to semi-final.<\/p>\n
