{"id":46434,"date":"2017-05-16T09:18:57","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T07:18:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=46434"},"modified":"2017-05-16T09:18:59","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T07:18:59","slug":"da-t-r-u-t-h-kills-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/05\/16\/da-t-r-u-t-h-kills-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Da T.R.U.T.H. kills it"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>United States Christian rapper Da T.R.U.T.H proved his popularity when his show at Blantyre Cultural Centre (BCC) on Sunday pulled a mammoth audience.<\/p>\n<p>The BCC was jam-packed such that others invaded the stage to watch the performances.<\/p>\n<p>There was a Carlsberg Urban Music Legacy show at College of Medicine, just a few kilometres from BCC, but this could not put the audience off.<\/p>\n<p>And just as he did in 2013 when he came and conquered, the US rapper, who has blessed many souls with his sound, was impressive once again.<\/p>\n<p>The rapper, real name Emmanuel Lee Lambert, wearing a camouflage short was electric on stage and gave it his all although he played with a CD.<\/p>\n<p>The show, which went all the way to the night, was dominated by the youth, who sang along to most of his songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are very warm and hospitality amazing. It\u2019s refreshing coming from the States where the people cannot be so warm. Everywhere I have gone among them Zimbabwe, South Africa and Malawi, it has been good,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Armed with his new album \u2018It\u2019s Complicated\u2019 the rapper said the renditions were all about inviting people to walk with God but also to tell his story &#8211; the journey he has moved to be where he is today.<\/p>\n<p>He was the last act to perform and although his set ended prematurely due to a technical problem, people were already satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>Random interviews with people indicated they were satisfied with others saying it has been sometime since they experienced such a great gospel show.<\/p>\n<p>Before Da T.R.U.T.H. took to the stage, the audience had warm-ups from Jeremiah Chikhwaza, David Kalilani, South Africa\u2019s Lilly Million and Suffix.<\/p>\n<p>Before Million offered her songs, she came first collaborating with Kalilani and later Suffix.<\/p>\n<p>Her set saw her play the guitar showcasing her skills to the amazement of the audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a great experience. A lot of people here don\u2019t know my music yet but they have been so warm,\u201d Million said.<\/p>\n<p>She then revealed that the US rapper was shooting a video with Sukez and that she was part of the production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMalawi has beautiful places and Da T.R.U.T.H. thought of shooting a video,\u201d said the songstress.<\/p>\n<p>Suffix said he was happy to have shared the stage with two amazing artists in the US Rapper and Million.<\/p>\n<p>The US rapper first performed in Mzuzu on Friday and then in Lilongwe where he is reported to have sparked before the Blantyre outing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>United States Christian rapper Da T.R.U.T.H proved his popularity when his show at Blantyre Cultural Centre (BCC) on Sunday pulled a mammoth audience.
