Moyale Barracks Interim Coach, Charles Kamanga, has revealed the secret behind their away 2-0 win over fellow soldiers, Mafco, on Saturday\u2014 playing long balls.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told my boys that we have to play long balls to beat Mafco and that is exactly what they did. Going into the second leg, I can say we have an upper hand,\u201d Kamanga said in a post-match interview after the Airtel Top 8 Cup quarterfinal first leg.<\/p>\n
Mafco Coach, Temwa Msuku, admitted that Moyale\u2019s early goal destabilised his team.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe conceded an early goal which confused us. There was also lack of coordination between midfielders and strikers in the first-half. We have lost the game but in football, you never say never as anything can happen in Mzuzu,\u201d Msuku said.<\/p>\n
Moyale scored in each half to give themselves an upper hand going into next week\u2019s return leg in Mzuzu.<\/p>\n
Moyale\u2019s dominance made a difference in the 16th minute when Dan Katunga received a square ball from Khuda Muyaba to tap in and put his team in front.<\/p>\n
Lacking composure, coordination and fire power, Mafco played second fiddle to Moyale throughout the first-half.<\/p>\n
Later, Mafco\u2019s introduction of Victor Mpinganjira for wasteful Joseph Donsa upfront brought life to the team, but led by man of the match Timothy Nyirenda at the back, Moyale defended the lead jealously.<\/p>\n
