Injured Moyale Barracks goalkeeper, Juma Chikwenga, midfielder Crispin Fukizi and striker Gastin Simkonda, have hailed their team mates for starting the 2017 TNM Super League season on a high.<\/p>\n
Minus Simkonda, the Fukizi brothers, Crispin and Clifford, Chikwenga and Lovemore Mitengo, the Mzuzu-based soldiers beat Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 at Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Alisen Black scored the lone goal during the match which Chikwenga, Fukizi and Simkonda watched from the stands.<\/p>\n
The injured players have since urged their teammates to replicate their performance when facing fellow soldiers, Mafco, in Sunday\u2019s Airtel Top 8 Cup quarter-final in Dwangwa.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe boys went into the match as underdogs, but they worked very hard to win the match. I would like encourage them to keep the momentum,\u201d Chikwenga said.<\/p>\n
Midfielder Fukizi hailed the players for showing hunger during the game against Bullets.<\/p>\n
\u201cLooking at the performance, our unavailability was not a problem. We urge our colleagues to do the same this coming Saturday when they travel to Chitowe,\u201d Fukizi said.<\/p>\n
Simkonda said time had come for the Lions of Kaning\u2019ina to claim their lost glory by winning a trophy this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cLooking at how our colleagues played, it really gives us a picture that we need to work hard once we get back into the team. It is indeed high time we grabbed either the league championship or a cup,\u201d Simkonda said.<\/p>\n
