Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has warned Premier Bet Wizards, Civil Sporting Club and Chitipa United that they risk disciplinary action for barring their former players from featuring for their new clubs.<\/p>\n
Wizard\u2019s owner, Peter Mponda, has claimed that defender Trevor Kalema and attacking midfielder Steven Micheta have running contracts with the club.<\/p>\n
Mponda made the claims despite giving the duo the go-ahead to join Lilongwe giants, Silver Strikers.<\/p>\n
The duo did not feature during Silver\u2019s away opening matches against Wizards and Azam Tigers FC over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Mponda said Silver did not pay for the players hence they are failing to sign registration cards.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt Premier Bet Wizards, we don\u2019t believe in oppressing players who want to join other clubs. That is why we gave them the go-ahead to start negotiating with Silver, but I am wondering as to why they are not paying us,\u201d Mponda explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cKalema\u2019s contract ends in June whereas Machete\u2019s contract ends in 2020, but our counterparts are insisting that the players are free agents.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another transfer wrangle has emerged between Masters Security Services FC and Civo United over midfielder Raphael Phiri.<\/p>\n
Masters did not feature Phiri during their 0-1 loss to Dwangwa United on Saturday as his former club is claiming that he has a running contract with them.<\/p>\n
In Mzuzu, Moyale Barracks did not use Abel Mwakilama who joined during the pre-season from Chitipa United.<\/p>\n
Fam Transfer Matching System Manager, Casper Jangale, expressed hope that all the transfer wrangles will be sorted out this week.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have received complaints over the players and, as Fam, we will act on the matter to make sure that all is settled. We are monitoring every development because we have documents that one of the players played on loan for a period of five years. We have to act on this as we are aware that a loan is for one year. For sure, we will take disciplinary action,\u201d Jangale said.<\/p>\n
