{"id":46094,"date":"2017-05-10T09:17:03","date_gmt":"2017-05-10T07:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=46094"},"modified":"2017-05-10T09:17:03","modified_gmt":"2017-05-10T07:17:03","slug":"southern-region-football-association-league-to-kickoff-may-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/05\/10\/southern-region-football-association-league-to-kickoff-may-20\/","title":{"rendered":"Southern Region Football Association league to kickoff May 20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) on Saturday postponed the kickoff of its league to next week.<\/p>\n<p>SRFA Chairperson, Raphael Humba, said the postponement was necessary to ensure that the league\u2019s launching ceremony gets maximum attention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe later realised that the football diary was congested on the day. We had the launch of the TNM Super League, the FMB Under-20 League and the Central Region Chipiku league. So we decided to give a chance to others and settled for a postponement to May 20,\u201d Humba said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the launch will take place at Nsanama in Machinga District to give the league a sense of uniqueness.<\/p>\n<p>Humba said sponsors, Masters Security Services, have made a commitment to continue bankrolling the league.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe in being unique in everything that we do. Our sponsor has assured us in writing that our ties are intact. That is why we will go to as far as Nsanama just to launch this year\u2019s competition,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, registration of teams for the league is set to close today.<\/p>\n<p>Humba said projections are that the league would have less than 40 teams for the Premier Division and Division One.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) on Saturday postponed the kickoff of its league to next week.
