Musician and preacher Stevie Wazisomo Muliya came out with guns blazing during his Zisomo Gospel Celebration at Robin\u2019s Park in Blantyre on Sunday.<\/p>\n
He proved his 10 years of ministering through music and preaching when he delivered an energetic performance that had surprises.<\/p>\n
The audience enjoyed his performance from the beginning to the end and he made sure he engaged the people throughout.<\/p>\n
Muliya combined music with preaching and there was even time when he gave out hampers courtesy of Candlex Limited to people in a raffle draw.<\/p>\n
Apart from the attendance, the gospel musician also received support when several people contributed money to his ministry.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am excited, I never saw this coming but the attendance just shows that people love what I do and again to receive huge contributions from people is something else,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
During his performance the artist dished out songs such as \u2018Mulinane Cholinga\u2019, \u2018Ndizotheka\u2019, \u2018Palibe Woposa Yesu\u2019, and \u2018Mwayenera\u2019, off his Zikomo <\/em>album.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a long journey but God has been there. I have learned a lot from different artists and I am still growing but with 10 years I can stand tall and say I have some experience,\u201d Muliya said.<\/p>\n The musician, who revealed that he is in the studio cooking a new album, also said that it was high time gospel shows became platforms for bringing people closer to God.<\/p>\n \u201cToday I preached and I am happy that through preaching and music some turned to God. This is what gospel shows need to do and change people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Backed by Dynamics Band which has some veteran musicians such as guitarist Collen Ali, the sound was faultless.<\/p>\n There was a moment during Muliya\u2019s performance when musician and renowned producer Joseph Tembo jumped on stage and played the guitar taking over from Ali.<\/p>\n He reminded the audience of his past exploits playing rumba when Muliya and the band played the popular song \u2018Mangelengele.\u2019<\/p>\n But they breathed in fresh lyrics in the song making it gospel.<\/p>\n Tembo said it was exciting for him to play the guitar.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s always good to participate in shows as a musician and when Collen asked me to play the guitar I felt it was an honour,\u201d said the former Member of Parliament.<\/p>\n Now a Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) board member, Tembo said people should look out for his new album soon.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been sometime since I worked on an album but let me tell the nation that my album is ready. I am yet to give it a name but the songs will start airing very soon,\u201d said the creator of the song \u2018Dimingu.\u2019<\/p>\n Tembo described Muliya\u2019s show as impressive but was quick to say that most of the shows these days are failing to pull huge audiences.<\/p>\n \u201cI have noticed that shows are not attracting huge audiences as was the case in the past.
