Alisen Black scored for Moyale in the 21st minute.

It is too early for the red side of town to press the panic button but Bullets Coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, might be worried that his charges failed to score in 180 minutes.

With Chiukepo Msowoya having left Bullets for Golden Arrows in South Africa, Bullets have Muhammad Sulumba as their striker-in-chief, but the goals simply cannot come.

Signs of impotence were also evident during the pre-season Wafawafa Big Four Bonanza when Bullets were unable to score in two games played at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

While Ramadhan is capable of finding a scoring formula, playing most games away in view of Kamuzu Stadium’s closure might also prove a factor if the Bullets are to earn their record 14th title.

In a post-match interview, Ramadhan, said: “It was a terrible trip [to the North]. However, the league is not yet over. Otherwise, if you rate us after two games, then you are wrong.”

“I have no problem as a coach to rectify mistakes. Maybe if we can rectify refereeing problems, we can start getting results. The team was flat yes. But we have a long way to go and surely we will correct these mistakes.”

Moyale Interim Coach, Charles Kamanga, said: “Good to start the league on a high. Moyale fans should expect more good results from us.”

Surely, comparisons will be drawn between Bullets and their rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, who started the campaign with an encouraging 1-0 win over Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday.

Other giants, Silver should also be worried that they returned to Lilongwe with two points after drawing 0-0 in Mulanje against Premier Bet Wizards on Saturday then 1-1 when meeting Azam Tigers in Nchalo yesterday.

Precious Phiri scored for the Patrick Kulemeka side with Green Harawa netting for the Bankers, who signed 11 players during the pre-season.

Elsewhere, Blantyre United made a worst return to the top-flight league after losing 4-1 to leaders Lions yesterday at Zomba Community Centre.

Innocent Bokosi bagged a hat-trick helped by Kumbukani Mwambene for the Lions. Ian Banda claimed United’s consolation goal in Zomba.
