{"id":45669,"date":"2017-05-04T08:45:12","date_gmt":"2017-05-04T06:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=45669"},"modified":"2017-05-04T08:45:14","modified_gmt":"2017-05-04T06:45:14","slug":"knights-fire-warning-shots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/05\/04\/knights-fire-warning-shots\/","title":{"rendered":"Knights fire warning shots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) reigning champions, Central Knights won the Chairperson\u2019s Trophy over the weekend to fire warning shots ahead of the new season.<\/p>\n<p>During the pre-season event, Knights underlined their class with an emphatic 77-58 victory over Mimbulu in an entertaining affair at Civo Basketball Court.<\/p>\n<p>In the ladies category, Bravehearts won the trophy after thrashing Dynamites 82-38 at the same venue.<\/p>\n<p>Knights Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Emanuel Phiri, said the champions were leaving no stone unturned ahead of the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a warning to all teams that we are on a serious mission again this season. The players are eager to achieve more this year,\u201d Phiri said.<\/p>\n<p>Knights have roped in Coach, Martin Muchena, whose last coaching job was at Matero Magic Ladies in Zambia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also excited to have a new coach and morale is high among the players,\u201d Phiri said.<\/p>\n<p>Cezobal Chairperson, Hellen Chabunya, confirmed that the new campaign will throw off this weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) reigning champions, Central Knights won the Chairperson\u2019s Trophy over the weekend to fire warning shots ahead of the new season.
