An opportunity has risen for former Visual Arts Association of Malawi (Vaam) President Chrisford Chayera, to exhibit his works in Japan.<\/p>\n
Chayera, who has been in the world of visual arts for years, has stunned people with his talent and yet he is physically challenged.<\/p>\n
The former Vaam president uses his mouth to create artworks.<\/p>\n
The visual artist will leave the country on May 28 for Sapporo, Japan where he is expected to hold a two-week exhibition.<\/p>\n
Chayera is expected back home on June 8.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am thankful to God for this opportunity. It\u2019s rare to get these opportunities and to have a chance to exhibit in Japan is great. This is an opportunity for me to reach out to a different audience,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chayera said he is expected to exhibit close to 300 works.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs artists we need these trips because apart from exhibiting to a different audience, you also have time to network with other artists,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is set; I am just waiting for the day I will depart. I have been busy creating different artworks. This exhibition will also help me market Malawi,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
