Organisers of Nyasa Music Awards set to take place on Friday at Comesa Hall in Blantyre have said they are impressed with the response of the sponsors of the inaugural awards.<\/p>\n
One of the organisers Chifundo Maganga said the awards are a celebration of Malawi\u2019s talent that is why they asked organisations and partners to be part of this year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are glad that a lot of organisations saw the need to be part of this event and we are confident that it will be successful. This kind of support is proof that we are doing the right thing and we believe the awards will go a long way to uplift the standards of music in the country,\u201d Maganga said.<\/p>\n
Some of the sponsors of the event are Times TV, Capital Radio, Power 101 FM, Red Ink Media, Entertainers Promotions, Dusk Till Dawn, Malawi Airlines, Nyasa Manufacturing Company, Options Stores and a number of individuals who will be revealed on the awards night.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe most important thing is that individuals and companies have embraced our concept. We are looking forward to a successful event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the voting for artists is still in progress. The voting code for both TNM and Airtel subscribers is 3039. To vote for favourite artists, subscribers are expected to send vote, name of artist and category to the code provided.<\/p>\n
The awards are run by Mathambo Lowole (Thambo & E Entertainment) Maganga (owner of Options Men\u2019s Stores) and James Makunje (owner of Fifteen Sports Club and Mango Entertainment).<\/p>\n
The awards were conceived to recognise the achievements of musicians in Malawi. As part of Corporate Social Initiative, part of the proceeds will go to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital\u2019s Oncology Ward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
