{"id":4550,"date":"2015-06-20T08:02:11","date_gmt":"2015-06-20T08:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=4550"},"modified":"2015-06-20T08:02:11","modified_gmt":"2015-06-20T08:02:11","slug":"civo-united-silver-strikers-storm-blantyre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/06\/20\/civo-united-silver-strikers-storm-blantyre\/","title":{"rendered":"Civo United, Silver Strikers storm Blantyre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Capital City sleeping giants, Civo United hit the road in search for their first win of the season Saturday when they face Big Bullets in a tough TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Civo have gone eight games without a win, just scoring two goals and are stuck at the bottom of the table with two points but have warned Bullets not to expect an easy ride.<\/p>\n<p>The fixture promises to be a thriller as both sides will be aiming for maximum points in today&#8217;s encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Second-placed Bullets will be looking to displace Nomads on top of the log table while Civo are aiming for a victory to increase their chances of staying in the league.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Wednesday, ahead of the match, Civo coach Oscar Kaunda said the boys were set to claim their first win of the season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are underdogs on paper but football is played on the ground and we are determined to register our first win of the season,&#8221; said Kaunda.<\/p>\n<p>As of Wednesday, Civo had a full squad and were boosted by the return of Flames defender John Lanjesi,who could feature against Bullets if cleared in time.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Bullets coach, Lloyd Nkhwazi, said his boys are not underrating wounded Civo ahead of the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCivo are still a good team and we know that they will come hard on us because they want to chalk their first win,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets were held to a one-all-draw by Blue Eagles at the same venue last week.<\/p>\n<p>In another potentially explosive fixture on Saturday, Silver face Azam Tigers at Kalulu Stadium before playing Mighty Be Forward Wanderers on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Straight from their 0-1 loss at the hands of Epac, the Bankers will be looking for revenge against KauKau, a side that beat them twice last season.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview on Wednesday, Silver coach, Stain Chirwa, said he was anticipating tough encounters against Tigers and Wanderers but was confident of getting maximum points.<\/p>\n<p>Silver are fourth on the log table with 16 points from nine games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe players are geared for<\/p>\n<p>the match and the morale is high in camp. We lost a painful match against Epac, but our focus now would be to return to winning ways against Tigers and Wanderers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chirwa said revenge mission would be on agenda when facing Tigers at the same time looking to close the gap on leaders Wanderers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are going there on revenge mission after two painful defeats last season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Tigers have assembled a good squad capable of beating any team in the league.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Tigers technical director, Robin Alufandika, said his charges were ready to face Silver test.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be a difficult game but we are ready to face them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Capital City sleeping giants, Civo United hit the road in search for their first win of the season Saturday when they face Big Bullets in a tough TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium.
